Unboxing: the Look Fantastic February Box

Look Fantastic Box Februari

Time flies! It was just the start of the new year, and now its February already! I am already sneaking a peek forward towards spring – I can’t wait! But for now, there is the Look Fantastic February Box to help us through the last remnants of winter – and to add a little romance to the cold season.

About Look Fantastic

For those who are not familiar with Look Fantastic: this is a monthly subscription beautybox. Look Fantastic is a large online beauty store, originating from the UK – but it also has a dutch branch now. For about €15 a month you will get a box sent to you every month. Inside are usually beauty items, skincare and makeup, and sometimes a tool for your beauty stash.

The great thing about Look Fantastic (I think) is that it is a real tryout box. De product size is a bit smaller (usually travel size) but for that you get a large selection of high end brands! So with this box, it’s easy to try out those expensive things you’ve always wanted to try – but without breaking your budget.

Theme: The Romance Edition

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the theme was easy to guess. This month’s box is a lovely and sweet tint of pink, and is themed The Romance Edition. And with that, Look Fantastic does not just mean your secret admirer (or the one you secretly admire) but all kinds of relationships. Your BFF you can’t live without, your first date or the love of your life; anything goes! And with the things inside this box you can make yourself glow even more for those special people in your life.

Contents of the box

On to the most important part: what’s in the box?! I could not wait, either. So here’s what I found in the Look Fantastic February Box:

Philip Kingsley – Maximizer: Oh nice, a Philip Kingsley product! I found the Elasticizer in my Look Fantastic Box earlier and I loved it. This product promises some extra volume for your hair and I could surely use that. Can’t wait to try it!

Sleek Makeup – Face Form Palette: In this palette you will find a contouring set with a dark contouring powder, a dewy highlighter and a soft blush. Everything for a lovely look in one box!

Contouring sets and blushes are regulars in beautyboxes, because I have acquired a few more this way. Of course I am going to try it, but this does not really ‘wow’ me anymore.

Lord & Berry – Matte Lipstick Pencil: Lip pencil from a very nice brand! I’ve found more Lord & Berry products in diverse beautyboxes and always liked them. This one is in the colour Intimacy – a bit coral-like. Not too dark, but a lovely romantic tint. Nice!

Doucce – Punk Volumizer Mascara: A small sized mascara from Doucce in black. Nice size for the purse and wow, that’s a HUGE brush on there! I am curious about the volume this one will give my lashes.

Emite – Rose Gold Eye Lash Curler: I am always happy to find tools in my beautyboxes, and I did not have a curler yet. So this is great: a curler in a lovely rose gold shade from Emite. The little bag contains a few extra of those rubbery things, so you can replace those on your tool when they get old. Good thinking and a nice tool to have!

Erno Laszlo – Deep Sea Mud Bar: A mini soap?! Well, this is too small to actually use on my body, so I will use it for my face as the booklet suggests. Nice product but due to the small size, I am a little disappointed. Not sure what to make of this.

And those were the six products for this month! If I am honest, I must say that this is the first Look Fantastic box that did not ‘wow’ me. Maybe that is because there is so much makeup in it (drie pieces and a tool) and not so much skincare. I love the haircare product, but the mini soap… not sure how much use that is.

Despite that, this is the first box that I feel this way about, and I have been a member for almost a year now. So, I have high hopes that the next box will be fantastic again!
